What’s happened to the wood?

As the nights are drawing in I’ve started to notice when I go outside my back door at night, how strong the smell of wood smoke is. It’s never been this strong before and I’ve been talking to friends about whether there’s a link between that and the surprising lack of wood being washed up on the beaches this year. Is it because more people are getting there first as they look to bring their household bills down further, or is it because there have been less storms and strong winds? The answer is we simply don’t know, but we’re hoping the free wood returns in time for the cold spell… and that there’s more than enough for everyone!
